— Enrol at Ranges TEC

Our Enrolment Process

Thank you for considering Ranges TEC for your child. We ask that you please review our four-step process for enrolling your child at Ranges TEC.

Visit / Tour

We welcome you to attend an Open Day or phone the office to request a personal tour and an enrolment pack. Phone:(03) 9738 7100 Email: [email protected]

Application

Complete the Application to Enrol form and submit together with any supporting documentation. We will contact you to advise you of the outcome of your application.

Interview

The student and parent(s)/guardian(s) attend an enrolment interview with the Director (approx. 30 – 60 minutes). You will then be contacted to advise the outcome of your interview.

Offer

If the application is successful at this stage, a letter of offer will be sent to you and a request for a $500 Enrolment Acceptance Fee.

Ranges TEC has multiple intake points throughout the year. To find out more contact the office to make an appointment for a tour and interview.

Learn how Ranges TEC can partner with you and your student as they prepare for the workforce while still at school. Applications for mid-year enrolment can be submitted anytime between late Feb and early June each year.

We’re excited to invite you to Ranges TEC’s VET Taster Evenings. These hands-on experiences are designed for Years 9 and 10 students interested in exploring future careers in trade, TAFE or the wider workforce.

Fees are invoiced at the beginning of February. Payment received in full by the end of February attracts a 3% discount on tuition and materials fees.
The materials fee is due by the end of February. Families may elect to pay the tuition fee by equal monthly instalments from Feb-Nov.

Withdrawal of a student from Ranges TEC requires one full term’s notice in writing or payment of a term’s fees in lieu of notice.

VET Course Costs are non-refundable once a student commences their course.

Visit our Fees page for full information on fees and other costs.

This will take place prior to the commencement of the school year, usually early December. If your child’s entry to Ranges TEC is mid-year, an arrangement will be set up with parents as needed.

Enrolment at Ranges TEC can be conditional on a probation period. In addition to following school expectations, students must show an understanding of the character and culture required to continue enrolment. This will be discussed in detail with the student and parents at Enrolment Interview.

Credit Transfer

If you have successfully completed one or more of the units offered at Ranges TEC at another Registered Training Organisation, and can produce an original academic transcript as evidence of this, you will receive an automatic credit transfer.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that recognises a student’s current skills and experience. Students can base their application for RPL on any combination of formal or informal training and education, work experience or general life experience. If you believe that you have sufficient and current evidence to demonstrate competency in one or more of the units in your Ranges TEC Certificate program you may be eligible for RPL.

Evidence may include;

  • Interview/professional conversation
  • Observation and questioning including workplace visits
  • Portfolio of work, which may include completed assessment items from previous study
  • Supplementary assessment tasks or challenge test (oral, written or practical)
  • Assessment where no training is involved
  • Trade test
  • Authentication of evidence by supervisor or employer.

For more information or to apply for RPL please contact the Ranges TEC enrolment officer t 03 9738 7100
